Justice Is Blind

Episode Guide:

Michael is at the model home, staring at the file on his father's criminal activities when Gob comes home. Seeing the binder, Gob demands that it's destroyed immediately and Michael says that's well and good, but that's only a list and the prosecution has what are literally boxes of evidence against George Sr.

George Michael and Maeby come home, the former nursing a sprained elbow. Lindsay hears how her nephew helped Surely, the wheelchair-bound alter ego of her own daughter, up a flight of stairs and tells him that he should sue. She thinks this is a fine idea as she's in the middle of suing to get a statue of the Ten Commandments removed from the front of the county courthouse. It's while he's hearing this that Michael realizes he needs to be the "good" member of the Bluth family.

Michael confronts Maggie, giving her his real name. She informs him that she knew who he was thanks to his smell in the courtroom and that the binder contained a "wish list" of evidence, not an actual list of what the prosecuting office has. Michael and Maggie come to the conclusion that they can't ethically continue their relationship. The relationship is continued several times that afternoon anyway.

The next morning, Michael wakes up next to Maggie, happy. They decide that secrecy is in order and spend some more time continuing their relationship while he misses a meeting with Barry and George Sr. While Michael had been lecturing his sister the previous afternoon for her abuse of the legal system, Gob had made off with the list and is convinced that there's boxes of evidence lining the halls of Maggie's home. Outside of the meeting, Annyong and Buster are having a discussion. Buster is informed that when daddy takes his plea and comes home, Buster's moving out.

Michael and Maggie are walking together when a police officer pulls over and informs her that a surprise witness has popped up. Michael tells her that he'll take Justice home for her. What he doesn't know is that Gob has enlisted Tobias, famed for his cat-like grace, for the task of breaking into Maggie's home and absconding with the evidence.

In an attempt to see what Maggie's world is like, Michael closes his eyes and allows Justice to serve as his guide dog. Justice promptly leads Michael into a busy street, causing him to be hit by a car. Meanwhile, Maggie meets with the surprise witness, who turns out to be Buster. He says he will offer inside information for three simple things - George Sr must stay in prison, Annyong must be sent back to Korea, and he has to have a grilled cheese sandwich. After a few hours of interviewing, Maggie realizes that Buster's useless. Buster, at this point, is suffering hunger pangs and in order to get the grilled cheese sandwich reveals that there are boxes of evidence at Scenic View Drive. This is where Maggie lives.

Tobias, meanwhile, is at Maggie's abode, using his catlike agility and grace to sneak in. Maggie, unfortunately, has just gotten home and in an attempt to cloak himself from her sensitive nose, Tobias puts on one of her robes. As Maggie storms through her home, Tobias dodges her with amazing skill.

Michael takes Justice to the vet's office to make sure he's fine and is informed that the seeing-eye dog outfit the canine is wearing is a cruel joke. Justice is blind. Michael realizes that Maggie can't be blind and in a flashback, we find out that she's been using it as a crutch since her LSAT.

We cut to her house, where Tobias is amazed at the ability that this blind woman exhibits. Michael shows up to return Justice to his home. When Maggie, trying to avoid him, walks into the bathroom and is sprayed in the face with perfume being held by the panicking, robe-wearing Tobias.

Outside the courthouse, "Surely" is speaking to the crowd about the lack of ramps at her school. George Michael spots his father and dives behind the Ten Commandments statue in order to avoid being perceived as abusing the legal system. Michael, determined to expose Maggie, hides on the other side of the same statue. This works well until Lindsay's legal victory occurs and the statue is removed by a crane and promply deposited onto Barry's car.

Michael storms into the courtroom, determined to expose Maggie as a fraud. He throws a bible at her in the belief that she'd duck and expose her lie to everyone. Tobias's perfume assault, however, was still affecting her vision and she gets the good book right in the kisser. Michael's hauled away by the baliffs.

George Michael is just about to expose his cousin, but when she credits his efforts to help her move the wheelchair as inspiration he reverses his position and leads the crowd in a chant. Inside the courthouse, Michael and Maggie apologize for the various lies they've told and he discovers that a bible hitting someone in the face can, apparently, restore their sight.
