Michael arrives at the model home from work one day to find the rental car Lindsay had promised to return sitting in the driveway. As he's in the process of making the family's financial situation a good deal more liquid, she needs to get rid of it. It's in the middle of this discussion that Gob comes in, bitching about having to accompany Marta to the Desis, a Latino awards show. Michael's lecture on the importance of family is ignored as his mother stops by, looking for her tickets to awards show so that she and Buster can make a social appearance.
Michael has replaced the corporate jet with a stair-car, the sort you see used to put people on aircraft. Lindsay protests and Michael informs her that if she talks to a protestor at one of the Bluth development sites, he might get rid of it. Gob announces that he's going to get back in with the Magician's Alliance by escaping the prison that holds his father and, since he'll be in jail, Michael will have to be Marta's date to the Desis.
It is at this point that disaster strikes - Lindsay uses the stair car to talk to Johnny Bark, the protestor, and is left stranded when Michael uses it to pick up Marta. During the awards, Buster inadvertently flirts with Lucille's across-the-hall neighbor, Lucille Austero, due to his lack of eyeglasses. Gob's escape goes horribly awry after he finds out he can't use the bathroom and retrieve the key in private.
