Shock and Aww
Episode Guide:
For the first time since his wife's death, Michael is sharing his bed. Unfortunately, it's with Buster. The next morning, Michael, sleepless and cranky, is told by his son that he's got a crush on Ms Beth Baerly, his new ethics teacher. This is compounded by Lucille's barging in saying that she has a problem that Michael needs to fix.
This problem is an adopted 14-year-old Korean boy that she applied for the previous year in a fit of anger at Buster, who wouldn't finish his cottage cheese.
Michael's conversation with his mother is interrupted by phone call from Gob, attempting to make up for the Marta incident by inviting Michael on a double date with two women. Michael arrives at the restaurant to discover that Gob's date is attractive and Michael's is, frankly, sort of mannish. However, being who he is, Michael is polite to her and Gob interprets this as attraction. If Michael was going to want this woman, Gob would want her more.
Lindsay and George Michael have a chat. George Michael speaks of his teacher fondly, which Lindsay presumes means he's looking for a mother figure. She tells him she'll fill in for the teacher and be what he needs. She walks away, proud that she's done some family-building. George Michael is now deeply confused by his aunt's apparent desire for him.
Michael meets Ms Baerly at parent-teacher night and is instantly smitten, asking her if she'd like to go for a date. His father, George Sr, is also flirting with an attractive woman. His visitor is Cindy Lightbottom, a woman who claims to be a follower of his Caged Wisdom series but is, in reality, an SEC agent. His wife also has a new person in her life, Annyong. Lucille calls Michael, demanding that he helps her get rid of the Korean child, but finds herself being hung up upon.
Using the staircar to sneak into the house, Michael and Mrs Baerly spend the night together. Gob happened to spend the night with a woman as well. Unfortunately, it was the mannish female from earlier that day. It's at the breakfast table that Michael tells George Michael that Gob slept with Ms. Baerly - that's why she spent the night. His son is understandably furious.
At the Prison, George Sr meets with Cindy as well, and as he's terribly lonely for female companionship, attempts to fondle her through the prison fence. Her fellow agents are convinced that he knows about the camera hidden in her cleavage and order her to abort her mission.
Michael, feeling guilty, goes to visit Ms Baerly and tells her that he can't see her anymore. She agrees and at the school's :Diversity Dance," Michael intends to do right by his son and tell him about sleeping with the ethics teacher. When he informs Ms Baerly of this, she declares that she's falling for him. Gob is at the school, looking for the woman he had originally attemped to go out with to apologize and finds himself confronted by George Michael. Michael grabs his son and tells him the truth about Ms Baerly. At this point, Gob begins to brag about having slept with George Michael's teacher as well. Sadly for him it's the civics teacher, who had also taught the elder Bluth sons.
Unfortunately, Ms Baerly heard this discussion and said Michael was moving too quickly for her. It's done.

Quotes
Ms. Baerly: Sweet ride. Are you making dinner reservations? Michael: No, no. That was my mom. She just had a little Korean dropped off. Ms. Baerly: Ooh, that sounds good. Let's have that.
Lucille: I don't have the milk of mother's kindness in me anymore. Michael: Yeah. That udder's been dry for a while though, hasn't it?
Lindsay: I think George Michael is ready to have another mother. Michael: That's ridiculous. He has you, he has our mom. I think that would pretty much turn him off to the idea entirely. More Quotes by Shock and Aww |
